Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Receives REACH Award
February 3, 2020
The Beta Sigma Delta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) was recently recognized as one of the 2020 REACH Award recipients. REACH Awards are given to PTK chapters that excel in membership development. In recognition of this accomplishment, 2020 REACH Chapters will receive special recognition in the form of 5 Phi Theta Kappa graduation stoles. These stoles can be distributed to chapter officers or members to be worn during graduation and to keep in celebration of this college completion milestone.
Northeast Lakeview College is one of 609 PTK chapters across the country to be recognized for their efforts to bring the life-changing benefits and opportunities of PTK membership to even more students on their campuses in 2019.
“We created this program because we believe strongly in the mission of Phi Theta Kappa and want as many students as possible to receive the benefits of membership,” PTK President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner said. “Increased opportunities to apply for scholarships and engage with their peers and key faculty members lead to higher completion rates, and students get those opportunities through PTK.”
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year colleges and academic programs, particularly state colleges and community colleges. The NLC chapter of this organization has received numerous awards and recognitions over the past few years.
